Kauden viimeinen kisa ajettu Hillstagella. Hyvä kisa kaikin puolin ei suurempia ongelmia.


Tuossa vähän maistiaista hiekasta missä Old Boys kisa ajettiin.


SC & Modified luokan autot valmiina starttiin.


Kisassa tosiaan ei kummempia draamoja nähty. Kohtuullista ajoa alusta loppuun.

Tässä jakso numero neljä. Puhdas suoritus ja ainoana päälle.


Hadesbear peesasi hienosti koko kisan, mutta ei aivan päässyt hyökkäämään.

Ensi kaudelle ei ole kyllä isompia muutoksia tulossa. Perushuollot tehdään ja uudet akut tilataan. Radiopuolelle tulee Futaban 4PKS, jolla sitten tästä eteenpäin kurvaillaan. En lähde nyt hyvää muuttamaan.

Long time without updates. Season opener is getting closer and I have to do the yearly maintenance to this thing, so here we go:


Not a lot of new parts yet. Let's rip it apart.


Starting with the tires.


Weight with wet foams and a lot of sand in them.


I'll let the foams dry few days. That's the sand what was found in the tires.


Then I put a new grease to my transmission and the new skid from DravTech!


I'll put the motor other way around so it'll sit more in front.


Next thing will be to check how's the rear axle doing.


Quite a lot of sand in there. New bearings and grease. That should do the trick.


And of course some cleaning.

That's where I'll continue on tomorrow.

Rear axle completed. Washed, greased and new bearings added.


Next up. Front AR60 axle.


I was doing so good job with this, that I forgot to take any pictures. Anyhow, now it's finished. It was way better shape than rear axle.


I reassembled the tires and look what we have here. 30g of sand is gone!


Then I moved all the electronics a bit more forwards.


It's still a bit mess, even when I shortened few of the wires...


But it works! I'll be driving my foff's with 4PKS.


I got the weight of the rig little bit forwards now. It's ready for some snow bashing.


I'll add photos, when we go to drive with them on satrurday.

I took the rig for a spin today.


All set and testing a one battery option.


With paddles it was just like huuge drifting round there! 


Sideways 110% of the time. 


800mAh battery seemed to be working well in there. It's a whole lot of different occasion, when it has grip though.


Just couldn't get it to go straight line. 


Everything seems to be working now. I think it will be soon ready for The Winter Foff Competition.


That snow is stuffed in everywhere.


Scene which quite possibly will be the hill for the comp.


We will see it after two more weeks.

Time for small updates and some snow foff testing.


Updates. Wraith drive shaft to the rear axle and a nice DravTech CF motor plate. 


Drive shaft assembled and ready to go.


We made practicing course on next weekends comp area.


Steep part before the finishing gate. 


It was good fun to drive it on the hills. The performance suprised me completely! Minor changes to the comp, but otherwise it's ready for it!


You simply can't end a bashing like this without an issue. 


Not too bad this time though. Front drive shaft got loose.

Final preparations for next weekends comp is done.


Added the new motor mount to new transmission.


I had 20t pinion last year, but less speed is ok, so it's now 17t.


Just charging the batteries and it's ready for it.


This body has been around a while. Can you find a thing which leads to this conclusion?

Anywho, I'm all set and I'll be aiming for the first place in The Winter Foff. This rig has been second four times in that comp and never a single victory. It sure is time for that.

We had our first comp of the season 2015.


Courses were really tough today!


Fantastic line of rigs!


Twelve rigs in the line.


Sadly I am nowdays the photographer, so there isn't too many pics of my rig. 


Toxoplasma Condii was way better shape in this comp, than it was the previous TWF year back.


I had few bigger mistakes in the comp, but this was one course I was able to catch up.


Zero degree snow was really soft.


I almost made this one to the top.


After comp rig was in one piece and I'm satisfied of it's performance.

Here is my best performance of the day. Last course I was only one to clear it! 


But still... 40 point difference to the winner. Fifth time I end up second with this rig in The Winter Foff. It's so sad it's almost funny...  AAARGHHH..

Well, on the other hand summer is in front of us and I can't wait for it to start! Next comp 11th of April. Stay tuned!

After the comp, I got myself straight back to the garage.


I remembered that I had a set of Crawlerkeller titanium links, which could fit in this build.


Front lowers. Perfect fit! 


Front end feels much more alive now.


Some crazy ass bends in the rear! 


Some ground clearance gained! 


That's a good fit. Now the rear uppers.


Fitted in there as well. With the new links I was able to clock rear axle a bit.


I changed front driver spring from red to orange to disable chassis torque. Hopefully it works.


Sideprofile with the new links. The rear drive shaft is a bit low, that I have to admit.  Allthought it doesn't matter so much in foff, cause the sand is soft most of the times.


With the body on. 

Next thing would be rebuilding the front axle. But now I have plenty of time to do it.

Joo, tarvii ostaa wraithin kardaaneja repullinen seuraavasta amainin tilauksesta. Tuo painaa melkein yhtä paljon kun erään pro auton kääntölinkki.   Edessä 3,5" big boret ja takana 4".

Some new stuff came today for this rig! 


ProTek RC PTK-250S servo a.k.a speed maniac!!

We'll see how well that works out. It doesn't have the torque, but I'm not so sure if I need that.

I'll have to put these on soon. Just have to find the time for it.

Time to spend some time with this bud again.


Installing some new parts and rebuilding my front axle with new housing and al screws.


New drive shaft to front as well. 


Taring the front axle apart.


New servo compared to old one. It's a little bit smaller, but 10g heavier.


Gears into new housing.


Coming together nicely.


I gotta rearrange the steering geometry, so it won't be so much of a stress for the low torque servo.


New wildboards assembled. 


Some aluminium screws to the rear axle as well.


Looking lighter already! 


I'll redo the electronics once again. Will put them on a tight package somehow.


"Some" sand came out from the receiver. 


I definately wanna see the predicted weight reading.


Few grams lighter than the previous setup.  Still have beadlocks though....

Some updates before first test on sand this year.


Shaved down my steering arm a little, so the steering would be better organized for low torque servo.


Electronics version two. 


Still not pretty and not too well organized, but at least I got them a bit forwards. 


That's how they are seattled.


I'm satisfied with it so far, let's try it like that first.


Test drive completed succesfully and DEAR LORD is that servo a killer. SPEEEEEEEEEEEDD! 


I'm actious to see it on the hills once the temperatures start rising again. 


I'm also happy with the steering itself.  Next update after the sand tests!
