Title: Need AX10 Project Help
Post by: HeadHunter on 11 February, 2010, 10:44:12
  Hi new here obviously...have been visiting the website for a long time and mainly looking at pictures and trying to get ideas and its a very inspirational website ;D...

   I am almost ready to start a FOFF build and want to know what are the most important upgrades that I will have to buy for my AX10.

   I already have Futaba 3 PK faast , 3s LiPo with CC Sidewinder and 4600KV Feigao BL motor regular AX10 tranny and shafts gears etc.

  I want the Panther Paddle tires and have no idea about what other parts to order especially the drive train area and axles etc.

   I would be very thankful if someone could help me with a small list such as;

    axle upgrades:
    chassis:
    shafts+yolks:
    tranny(stock now):
    motor pinion gear:
     anything I may have missed:

    I would like to use as much stock stuff as possible but if stuff will brake I will upgrade now.

     Thanks very much rc-foff.net and hope to have some nice photos soon !

Welcome. I'm glad to hear that you've managed to find useful information from here.

These are what I'm running:

Axle upgrades:

Axle's: 2x Axial Axle's (http://rcpcrawlers.com/product.php?productid=854&cat=29&page=1):
- RCP Crawlers AX10 Max Clearance Knuckle (http://rcpcrawlers.com/product.php?productid=838&cat=29&page=1)
- RCP Crawlers AX10 2 Postion Clockable Axle C (http://rcpcrawlers.com/product.php?productid=837&cat=29&page=1)
- Axial Racing Aluminum Rear Axle Lock-out (http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Axial-Racing-Aluminum-Rear-Axle-Lock-out-2pcs-AX30494-p-16817.html)
- Axial Racing Straight Axle (http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Axial-Racing-Straight-Axle-6x104x50mm-2pcs-fits-AX10-Scorpion-AX30421-p-16816.html)
- 4link front (http://www.tcscrawlers.com/On-Sale-2-off-TCS-Delrin-Upper-Link-Servo-Mount-for-Axial-AX-10-Scorpion-1-each-US-Patent-Pending-p-16526.html)   4link back (http://www.tcscrawlers.com/On-Sale-2-off-TCS-Delrin-Boomerang-Upper-Link-Mount-for-Axial-AX-10-Scorpion-1-each-US-Patent-Pending-p-16523.html)

Shocks & springs: TT Ek4 S2 original
Driveshafts: MIP AX10 CVD Drive Shaft Set (http://rcpcrawlers.com/product.php?productid=1015&cat=0&page=1)
Wheels: Axialin wheels (blue rings)
Tires: 2.2 Panther Paddle

Motor: Castle Creations 5700kv
Battery: 3s 2250mah Rhino (25C)
Esc: Mamba Max
Servo: Tower Pro

Pinion: depends on motor and gearing

I also recommend to use 3racing outdrive shaft (http://www.tcscrawlers.com/3racing-Stainless-Steel-Outdrive-Shaft-for-AX10-Scorpion-3RAC-AX10-03-p-17381.html) with MIP drive shafts. This is my fourth axial so I pretty much know the weak points.
